About me

 Age: 48

I live in a 100 year old house in Rosedale, Gippsland Victoria that I bought in 2020 and my first home purchase. I have called over 40 homes 'home' in my life. Moved frequently as a child and then repeated the cycle in adulthood moving my daughter and I almost yearly throughout her childhood.

Education:

Bachelor of Arts with majors in Peace Studies and Linguistics from UNE (2005) and completed my HSC in 1994, Springwood High (NSW). I also have qualifications in Mediation, Community Engagement, Event Management, Presenting and a raft of short admin courses.

Work history:

Have spent the last 15 years as an Executive Assistant in the State Government. Since 2019 I have tried to move into other roles in the government with no success. I completed courses, schmoozed, wrote amazing application letters, prepared for interviews and it just didn't seem to be happen. I found the rejections harder and harder, engaged career coaches, therapists, set goals etc etc and the longer it went on, the harder it was for me to stay positive and have hope. So in March this year I  quit! Am currently an unemployed, full time student with a mortgage but I am SO MUCH HAPPIER!

Family: Mum lives in Northern Victoria about 4.5 hours drive from where I am. She is turning 80 29th June and moving into a small apartment a few weeks later. Her husband died a year ago and I am pretty much her only support.

My dad and step mum live in the Blue Mountains and my step mum is my style icon. The woman is very inspirational. I recently visited them and Marg and I made lampshades, well we started a bunch and I am supposed to finish them (!)

I have an older sister in Sydney and a younger brother in Melbourne. I am the classic middle child: I get the raw end of the stick and yet am the glue that holds everyone together!
